The ERA team is currently surveying for endangered flora and fauna throughout the forest and has found a wonderful range of taxa. We present to you a small selection below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wombat Bush-pea (<em>Pultenaea reflexifolia<\/em>) is restricted primarily to Wombat Forest and is named for its reflexed leaves. Spotting its lovely, bright green plant during our surveys has been a treat. As the name suggests, this species has dark red to purple spots and blotches, particularly on the labellum. It favours moist locations in heathy woodland and open forest. The small emerald, heart-shaped leaves and red stems make it attractive, even when it isn&#8217;t flowering . This species is listed as rare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/eraus.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Bos-cor-01-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eraus.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Bos-cor-01-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/eraus.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Bos-cor-01-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/eraus.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Bos-cor-01-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/eraus.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Bos-cor-01-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/eraus.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Bos-cor-01-1568x1176.jpeg 1568w, https:\/\/eraus.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Bos-cor-01.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>Wiry Bossiaea (<em>Bossiaea cordigera<\/em>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We have also been looking at stands of Brooker&#8217;s Gum (<em>Eucalyptus brookeriana<\/em>). This relatively recently named species is often confused with <em>E. ovata<\/em> but is distinguished by its elliptic, crenolate juvenile leaves and high eucalyptus oil (cineole) content. This species is found sporadically throughout Victoria (listed as rare) and is disjunct with Tasmania, where it is more common.
