Camera Trapping, Kosciuszko National Park

Location: Kosciuszko National Park, Australian Alps, NSW.

Client: NSW Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS)

NPWS’s Ecological Health Performance Scorecards program aims to improve the ecological health of NSW national parks by establishing a framework to measure and report on ecological health, and to track natural variability and overall change in ecological health over time.

Remote camera trapping is a popular tool used to determine the presence of wildlife. ERA was engaged by NPWS to set up and place camera traps in a range of habitat types and for different target species. These images were then assessed (tagged), with our ecologists interpreting the information that they captured.
